Theresientaler Heimatbund: Problems of genealogical
researches
Parish Records: It is not yet clarified whether the parish records were lost during the
evacuation in 1944 or whether the priest who accompanied the families on their way back for
some days took the books back to his own Hungarian homeland. Maybe he handed them
over to his bishopric in Szatmar. Thus the parish-records between 1775 and 1944 are not
accessable right now.
Therefore we have to use so called Ahnenpaesse, copies of birth and marriage records and
reports of families-members as basis for our database. By matching those informations we
achieve a high degree of exactness for all that. Our database serves exclusively for private,
