Duncan B. Gardiner, Ph.D., C. G. is the author of German Towns in
Slovakia and Upper Hungary: A Genealogical Gazetteer and a number of family
histories. He edits Rocenka, the yearbook of the Czechoslovak Genealogical
Society International.
He has been a Certified Genealogist (C. G.) since 1991 and has made nine trips to the
archives in the Czech and Slovak Republics, researching several hundred ancestral lines of
Czechs, Slovaks, Rusyns, Germans, and Hungarians. With a doctorate in Slavic linguistics,
he has taught college Russian and Czech, is proficient in Slovak, German and French, and
reads Polish, Latin, Serbo-Croatian and Hungarian.
He was a founding Director of FEEFHS. He was general chairman of the 1995 FEEFHS
convention at Cleveland Ohio. On 1 October 1996 he became Second vice-President of
FEEFHS.
He has lectured at the first three FEEFHS International Conventions (Salt Lake City - 1994,
Cleveland - 1995 and Minneapolis - 1996). He detailed his plans to speak on three topics at the Fourth Annual FEEFHS Convention
in
Salt Lake City, Utah on 27 through 30 September, 1997.
