BARBER, DOLORES JUNGHEIM
eMail address: djbarber@uic.edu

Place: GROSS BETSCHKEREK (Nagy Becskerek,Torontal, Hungary, now Zrenjanin, Serbia)
Names: JUNGHEIM, WILHELM
Nickolaus and Emma (Wilhelm) JUNGHEIM and their son Lajos (= Louis, my father) came to Chicago from Nagy Becskerek in 1906. Ship's passenger list for Nickolaus gives "cous. August BELGRAM" as response for "going to join relative or friend". Application for Social Security number for Nickolaus gives mother's name as Veronica SELEGRAD, father's name as Nickolaus Jungheim. Family oral history has it that Emma Wilhelm's grandmother's name was PARMENTIER.

BEKKER, BERTA
eMail address: bertabek@earthlink.net

Brener (Brenner?) WOLF and his brother Boruch emigrated to the USA from little Ukrainian town Shepetovka in Khmelnitski Region in 1915-1920. They were brothers of my grandmother Leya BRENER (BRENNER?) (merried Melamed). I am looking for any information about those people or their families.

BISSO, THOMAS M.
eMail address: Beezo@MSN.COM

I am searching for information of my grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles and of relations still living in Yugoslavia or Hungary. My grandparents, some of their brothers and sisters emigrated from Torontal
county, Torontalvasarhely Hungary to America between 1904 -1915. The town is now called Debeljaca, Yugoslavia, north of Beograd (Belgrade). My grandfather Mihaly LADI or LAGYI was born 04 May 1879. My grandmother Rosza CSALA was born 30 August 1884. They were married before coming to America. My great-uncles who emigrated to America are; Samu (Samuel) LADI or LAGYI, he returned to Hungary during the 1920's, Istvan LADI or LAGYI, he was born in 1875. Istvan was married to Marie BARSZA, she was born in 1884.

My great-aunts are; Sophia LADI or LAGYI, who came to America about 1914 -1915 (with Alice and Rose, daughters of Mihaly and Rosza), and Rachel LADI or LAGYI. They all lived in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
My grandmother had a sister who lived in Hungary, her married name is Katarine SZABO. Katarine had a son and a daughter, I do not know their names. My grandmother and Great-Aunt Katarine wrote to each other until the late 1960's. I do not know if she lived in Hungary or Yugoslavia.

I would also like to obtain the address to the main church (Reformed and Catholic) where I could get copies of the register records (birth, marriage, death) of the town of Torontalvasarhely, in the former Hungarian county of Torontal, pre-1895. The town is now called Debeljaca, Yugoslavia.

FISCHER, UDO VIKTOR
eMail address: viktor.fischer@rmit.edu.au

1.Surnames: FISCHER SERBAN PHILIPP ANGYAL place: Kronstadt/Siebenburgen, Transylvania, Romania
religion: Lutheran and Reformed Church
2. Surnames: STELLI MARSCHALL PRECHT TISCHLER KORCHUS PATACSER place: Orsova (Orschowa), Banat, Romania religion: Roman Catholic

Researching my father's family FISCHER SERBAN PHILIPP ANGYAL and STELLI MARSCHALL PRECHT TISCHLER KORCHUS PATACSER. The FISCHERs, his father's people, were Transylvanian Saxon and Lutheran / Reformed Church, the only place I have is the city of Kronstadt / Brasov. His mother's people STELLI were Roman Catholic and I am supposing were Donau Schwaben, the only place
I have is Orsova (Orschowa). Specifically looking for siblings and places from which the families originated.

My grandfather Viktor Gottfried FISCHER, born 1887 at Kronstadt/Siebenburgen, married Aurelia Aranka Maria STELLI at Orsova in 1912. He was a ship's captain for the DDSG and died in Hamburg 1969. His parents were Carl Heinrich FISCHER, "amstdiurnist", born 1843 in Kronstadt / Siebenburgen, who married Marie SERBAN likely in Kronstadt, and she was born 1847, both religions given as Evangelical Lutheran. Carl Heinrich's parents were Johann FISCHER "ev.lt, leinwebermeister" (master linen weaver) and Anna PHILIPP, whose father was Martin PHILIPP.

For Marie SERBAN, her parents were Anatol (Josef) SERBAN Reformed Church, occupation written as "oekonom, Prov." and wife Rosalia ANGYAL religion "ref." and the notation "Glashutte" whether a place or an occupation is unclear.

For my grandmother, Aurelia FISCHER nee STELLI, she was born 1888 at Turnu Severin on the Danube bend, and died 1933 at Temesvar. All her side so far are Roman Catholic and although there were several marriages and births in Budapest, they all lived in Orsova. Her parents were Andreas Johann STELLI born 1851 at Budapest-Altofen, occupation given as "maschinist (DDSG)", and he married Hermine MARSCHALL on 1884 at Orsova; she was born 1864 at Orsova. Andreas STELLI's parents were Andreas STELLI occupation "Weinbauer", mother Anna PRECHT.

Hermine MARSCHALL's parents were Julius Otto Ferdinand MARSCHALL (known as Otto) who was born Budapest 1837 and died 1881 presumably in Orsova, and Hermine TISCHLER born 1844 in Budapest, married Otto 1863 in Budapest and she died 1919 at Orsova. Otto MARSCHALL's parents were Ferdinand MARSCHALL and Magdalena KORCHUS; Hermine MARSCHALL nee TISCHLER's parents were Nikolaus TISCHLER and Anna PATACSER.

There is a Fischer family wax seal with the profiled figure of a woman in a long skirt leaning on an anchor with her chin resting on her hand looking out into the distance; I do not know how old the seal is. It is some light metal / alloy worked as filigree around a brown translucent soft feeling stone / ceramic / glass in which the figure is carved. Nor do I know the story of the image, which I quite like - the woman staring out to sea awaiting the return of the menfolk from the perils of the roiling sea... that's how the romantic in me sees it, but what sea? A woman staring out across a river seems less likely to me, but who knows?)

FOCHT, TOM
bigsix@prodigy.net

Looking for information on a 'Matthias FOCHT' father to 'Andreas FOCHT' born 1882 Location unknown, possibly Budapest. Andreas married Karolina FRITZ born 1885 in Triebswetter. Elizabeth, child of Andreas and Karolina also born in Aus/Hun, possibly Budapest. Andreas, Karolina and Elizabeth emigrated to the USA around 1906-1908 with Andreas coming first and Karolina following after the birth of Elizabeth. It's unknown to me if Andreas had any brothers or sisters. Mothers name was Catherine. Karolina FRITZ had two sisters I know of, Katherine (mary) b4/19/1895 and Elizabeth b abt 1888. All emigrated to the USA and married here. Elizabeth FRITZ returned to the old country after her marriage. Her married name was something like BOCHIVICK?

Jos. FRITZ born unknown married to a Catherine___________ were the parents of Karolina , Katherine and Elizabeth. Jos. FRITZ died while Katherine was a baby and his wife Catherine FRITZ came to the USA after his death and returned to the old country as Elizabeth did. I believe they returned at different times. Due to the parish records ending in the mid 1800's I've been unable to find the connection for the FRITZ line in Triebswetter. Since I can not find the village the FOCHT line originated from I've been unable to locate my FOCHT connection to continue my research.

KOENIG, FRED E.
eMail address: feko@erols.com

I am trying to trace my grandfather, Freiderick / Frederick KONIG. On his naturalization papers he listed his birthplace as Zizidorf, Hungary. I have not been able to locate any place with that spelling, so I am led to believe he meant Zichydorf. I am also confused about his birthdate, because of some discrepancies in his legal papers. His birthdate is listed as 6 March 1868, but other factors seem to indicate that the birthdate should have been 6 March 1858. When he emigrated to the United States in 1892 he was living at Weisskirchen and traveled to Bremen to emigrate. He was of the Catholic faith. To the best of my knowledge he had six brothers, some of whom also emigrated to the United States. If anyone could help me clear up some of those discrepancies, or any other information about him, or his brothers I would greatly appreciate it. I have been to the LDS libraries many times, but I was unsuccessful in my quest, but I intend to keep trying.
