Suggestions for effective Hannover
Research List Messages:
- Capitalize all surnames :e.g. MUELLER, Karl E.
- State your problem succinctly. What are you looking for?
- Do not use abbreviations.
- This message is read worldwide so make it easy for others to understand you.
- Avoid cryptic messages. Use words and statements that clarify.
- Include all relevant data: surnames and important dates of your search.
- List all place names that are important to your search, if you know them.
- Include the religion of the ancestor if you know it.
- Avoid forms and tables. Use text to say it. More browsers can read your message
this way.
- Remember, all the unique words of your message are indexed by our search engine.
- Provide a postal mailing address if you do not have an eMail address.
- Review your message periodically. Revise, extend or refine it as you find new
information.
- Please advise John Cakars if or when your eMail or postal address changes.
- Encourage other Berlin researchers you encounter to post their message here,
too.

Wilhelm Diedrich Heinrich SCHMAEDEKE was born 20 September 1841 at Heemsen, Kreis
Nienburg Weser, Hannover. His parents were Johan Heinrich SCHMAEDEKE and Maria
Margaretha Schmaedeke. I am seeking information on his emigration and arrival in the
USA, approximately in the 1850's.
Webmaster Note: While no microfilm exists in the FHLC at Salt Lake City for this
Gemeinde (community), a film does exist of the 1690 Land Records for this Kries - on
microfilm 1307568, item 18.
