I am looking for birthplace of Heinrich Jakob SCHULZE born 23
March 1809 in the Kingdom of Hanover. His obituary stated that
he was born at Luther, but his brother, H.D. William SCHULZE's
(born 23 July 1822) obituary states that the town is spelled
Luter. Since old newspapers make so many errors, I am not sure if
the birthplace should be Lutter, just north of Hannover city, or
something else. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Vielen Danke.
BANKS, Jo

I am searching for the family of Ulrich WESTENDORF, born 15
February 1819 at Soegel, Hannover. He immigrated to St. Louis,
Missouri and then to Davenport, Iowa about 1850 before marrying
Fredereka LAMPING of Dinklage, Oldenburg. I am also searching
for Anna Margaretha SAND was born 20 May 1830 at Flechum,
Hannover to Bernard SAND and Anne BRINGMAN. She immigrated to
St. Louis, Missouri aand Davenport, Iowa before 1 Feburay 1852
when she married Johannes Bernard RABELING of Anholdt, Holland at
St. Louis.

I am looking for family still in Hannover or Germany of Friedrick
WOCKNER born circa 1810. He was a shepherd. His father was
Christopher WOCKNER and mother was Caroline. Frederick and his
wife, Christine (maiden name may have been HOLMEN), and children
immigrated to Australia on the ship "Aurora" in 1855. They were
Lutheran. The spelling variants that I know of are WOCHENER,
WOCHNER and WOCHNA. As far as we can tell they are the only
WOCKNER's to ever immigrate to Australia as all records (births,
deaths and marraiges) link back to the same family. The only
WOCKNER spelling of the name now appears to be singular to
Australia. And yet Frederick and his wife and children could all
read and write. This is how the name appears on the shipping
list. The other spellings all appear to be from America.
BUSBY, Shannon

I'm searching for the families of van ENGEN, ZWIERS, ALBERS,
BOUWERS and PETERS. Fennegien ZWIERS (born about 1780 at
Laar, Hanover, Germany) married first Harm van ENGEN (born
1774) about 1800 in the Hanover region of Germany. They had 4
children: Berend, Swaantje, Jenne and Hendrikji. Berend had a
son named Harm born in 1834 who inherited his families
estate of Woeste House at Emlenkamp, Hanover. After Harm
died, Fennegien married Geert ALBERS (her father was Teunis,
mother unknown) born 19 January 1792 at Sleen, Drenthe,
Netherlands. They married in 1816 and had two children.
another Harm born 1820 and Hendriki orn 1823 died 1824. The
Harm of Fennegien and Geert somehow inherited the Woeste
House estate and disposed of it about 1851 and then relocated
to Coevorden, Netherlands where his four children were born.
I'm descended from his son Jan Hendrik van ENGEN born July 25,
1857 in Coevorden and married Susanna BOUWERS (born 1861 in
Oosterhesselen) in 1885 in Oosterhesselen. They had 4 children
together, 2 born in Oosterhesselen, and the other two born in
Orange City, Iowa. Susanna died and Jan then married Josephine
Fenestra de JONG and had 10 more children. I'm interested in
finding out more about the parents and siblings of Geert ALBERS,
Feengien ZWIERS and Susanna BOUWERS plus anything more about the
van ENGENS as related to this family line. Thank you,
CHAPPELL, Karen

I am looking for the parents and the town of birth for Mary
DIEDERICH (or DEDERICH). She was born in May of 1876 in
Hannover, Germany. I do not know if this is the town of
Hannover or the Kingdom of Hannover. She immigrated to the
United States in 1892. This information was obtained from her
Catholic church parish in Pennsylvania and from the Pennsylvania
Census, and also from a birth certificate of one of her sons. In
America she married Joseph YOCKEL (JOCKEL) in Pennsylvania in
1895. After her husband Joseph died, she married his brother
Frank YOCKEL. In the old country, their name was spelled JOCKEL.
I would appreciate any clues to how to research this surname. I
have checked the LDS IGI for the appropriate dates and have found
nothing.

John Frederick DANNEMANN was born Hannover 10 January 1854
(unknown town) - this information caame from his from obituary.
His parents were Lutze and Maria DANNEMANN (information from
their marriage application). He immigrated to America, arriving
on 14 Aug 1875 and settled at Jersey City, New Jersey. He
married Louisa STRAUBEL there on 9 October 1876. He died 10
September 1924 at Cochecton, Sullivan county, New York. I am

My ancestors were Heinrich BOLLE (trader) and Frederica
HARTMAN. They had two children - 1. Nicholaus Michael
BOLLE, born around 1836 in Hannover, Germany 2. Heinrich
BOLLE born around 1837 at Burgdorf, Hannover, Germany.
Nicholaus and Heinreich (the two brothers) immigrated to
Australia in the 1860s, but may have come via England. I know
they were a Roman Catholic family. Any information that you
can provide me with, or point me in the direction of would be
greatly appreciated.

I am looking for the ARLINGHAUS family from the Dinklage area. I
am not sure on the location for Henry BROXTERMAN, or Elizabeth
BUNGENER. All of the above were born around 1820-1825 in
Hanover. I have some HASEMEIERS from Lohme by Steimbke, Nienburg
but have not been able to locate exactly where that is. I am
looking for John H. Hasemeier born at Gesmold, Hannover February
10, 1823. He immigrated to America in 1842. I understand there
was a St. Peters Catholic Church at Gesmold but have not been
able to find any records.
FABRI, Patricia TIEMANN
eMail address: lafamiglia@hotmail.com
John Wilhelm TIEMANN emigrated to America with others from
Osnabruk in Hanover, Germany, leaving on the 28 April 1834 and
arriving at New Orleans on the 26 June 1834 according to records
in Warren county, Missouri. He was born on 13 May 1806. He was
married to Catherine WESTMEYER, born about 1809 in Hanover. I
do not know what ship they arrived on. They first came to
Marthasville, Warren county, Missouri and about 1838 settled in
Washington, Franklin county, Missouri. I would like to know who
their parents and siblings were and the name of the ship.

I am seeking information on the parents, siblings or other
ancestors of John George FISCHER (probably Johann Georg) born
about 1834. He listed his birhtplace as "Hanover" Germany and
his occupation as "druggist" on my grandfather's birth
certificate and that he was 44 years of age in May 1878. He
married Bertha Douglas WRIGHT at Petersburg Illinois in 1869.
His children were raised in the protestant denomination but I
have no other details on his birth religion.
FOCK, Erick

My grandfather, Heinrich Diedrich FOCK, was born in Hanover,
14 March 1850. He immigrated to Australia, and it is thought t
he arrived in Australia in 1868. His parents are shown as
Heinrich Henning FOCK and Katrina BORGHARRSEN. He had a
brother Rudolph FOCK, who was an engineer in Hannover. A letter
from Rudolph to Heinrich in 1910 suggested that Rudolph was
involved with the invention of the "Safety Gas Syphon " which we
think is the "Lavatory S-Bend". The heading of the letter stated
the the invention was patented in all major states. He made
mention that "Hans" had been confirmed at Easter, 1910 but
whether that was a son or grandson, we do not know. I am looking
for information, please.

I am searching for the parents and siblings of Conrad
HARMS (HARMES) born 18 October 1830 at Altenmarhorst,
Twistringen, Hannover, Germany. I do not know when he immigrated
to America (I would like to learn this also) but I do
know he signed his letter of intent to become a us citizen at
Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1852. He became a citizen there in
1856. He was married in 1857 to Dorothea HEUBSCH at Columbia,
Pennsylvania.
GERDING, Eduardo C. Dr.
Argentina
eMail address: gerding@intramed.net.ar
I am searching for my ancestor Eduard Adolph Friedrich GERDING
from Wins an der Aller who immigrated to Argentina in 1830.
There are no registers of his entrance to the country. I do know
that he married Mrs. Rosa HARGREAVES in 1842. The
Niedersachsischer Landersverein fur Familienkunde told me
that probably that GERDING was born at Winsen / Aller on 15 March
1817 in whose case his parents could have been Christian
GERDING, born at Dushorn on 11 February 1782 and who died at
Winsen 29 June 1826. He was "Kgl.Hannov.Holzkommisair" at
Winsen. He married 7 June 1805 with Dorothee Sophie Caroline
HOLZMANN, born at Winsen 24 December 1785 (died about 1835). It
seems my family's origin took part at Vehs near Quaquenbruck. I
found as well that in a web called Hannover Farms there is a
microfilm from a farm which belonged to the GERDINGS. I would
like to certify through you that those are real my ancestor's
father an all information related with the GERDINGS. Any
information will be of an utmost help.

I am searching for any information on the family of Johann
Heinrich von THUN. Johann was born in Hannover 14 September
1863 to Heinrich von THUN and Elizabeth HOLTEMAN. He was of
the Roman Catholic faith. Johann immigrated to the United
States, arriving 6 May 1891. There is no evidence that any
other members of his family immigrated at that time. After his
arrival, Johann married Emma POLANZ (born Prussia). He died at
Cleveland, Ohio 11 November 1909. On his naturalization
application, Johann listed "Hannover" as his place of birth. I
am not sure if this referred to the province or city. Can
someone direct me to resources where I might find more
information about this family? I am especially interested
finding if there were other members of this family and the birth
and death dates of Johann's parents. Family legend is sparse
although there is a story that Johann's grandmother was somehow
connected with "Court", at least as late as the 1860's. Any
advice / comments / direction would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the birthplace of John T. POLING / POELING,
born about 1831. United States census records show his
birthplace as Hannover, Germany. He married Mary WILKIN, born
about 1840, also in Hannover, Germany. They were married about
1860 and immigrated to the United States in 1860. Their first
child was born in 1861 in Wisconsin. I do not know if they
listed Hannover the city or Hannover the Province. They were
Roman Catholic.

I am looking for more information for Johann Frederick PLUNS
(PLUNZ), born 11 November 1805 at Krummendeich, Hannover and
died 12 January 1860 (place unknown) and for Anna SCHUMACHER,
born 1 February 1815 at Oderquard, Hannover and died in 1895
(place unknown). I cannot find Krummendeich or Oderquard on any
map dated prior to World War I. I would also like any family
history connected to them such as their parents.
Their children were: 1. Anna Sophia Schumacher PLUNS born
5 December 1842 at Oderquard, Hannover and died 13 May 1928 at
Yacolt, Washington, U.S. She married Carl August Frederick
Wilhelm SCHRODER 3 November 1868 and had one child named
Charles who died about 1923, I believe at San Francisco,
California. Anna Sophia also married Carl Frederich
KOSCHNITZKI 1 February 1873 and he was born at Schillingsfelde,
Poland and migrated to Germany ("rumor" is the name was
originally von KOSCHNITZKI). If anyone knows where
Schillingsfelde is or was (supposedly near Danzig), I would
appreciate information for that town also. This family
immigrated to U.S. 1 May 1901 from Hamburg. Their children
were Albert Joseph Christian KOSCHNITZKI, John Wilhelm
Heinnrich Theodore, Jonni Frederick Carl, Anne Marianna Sophia
Maria, Carl August, Henrich and Marie. Anyone interested in
more information on KOSCHNITZKI (now KAY), I'll be more than
happy to share information. 2. Katherina Margretha PLUNS 3.

Kalamazoo, Michigan, lived at Muscatine, Iowa for several years
with his family, then returned to Kalamazoo, Michigan. His
father's name was Gerhard FRIELINK. I am looking for the city of

John Henry (Johann Heinrich ?) BASENBERG, Sr. immigrated to the
US, probably through the port of New York, between 1830 and 1865.
His wife was Dorthea. (No birth or death dates for either of
them.) I know nothing of their religious preference. They
brought two sons, both born in Hanover, Germany: Frederick, born
October 1825, and John Henry, Jr., born 11 January 1830. John Sr.
and Dorothea are buried at Wheatfield Cemetery in Niagra county,
New York.
Frederick and John Henry, Jr. were married in New York and had
children born in Buffalo. Frederick's wife is unknown. John
Henry, Jr. married Mary SCHWIN, born 3 June 1843 in Hanover. In
the mid-1870's, the two brothers and their families immigrated to
the new German settlement in Alabama that was started by Col.
Johann C. Cullmann. Since the BASENBERG brothers were born in
Hanover, I assume that their father may have been also. I am
looking for any listing for BASENBERG; either a passenger list,
church record, registration, anything.

I am looking for information for Lena MELCHING who was born
28 August 1857 in Hannover, Germany. I believe the family

have.
STROMBECK, Corey Cale
eMail address: cstrombeck@rivercto.net
I am looking for birth, marriage, or confirmation records for
the following people: William STROMBECK, born about 1808 in
Hannover, Germany; Sophia STROMBECK, born about 1801 in
Germany (William's wife). Their children were born in Hannover:
William STROMBECK, born about 1833; Louisa STROMBECK, born about
1835 and Henry STROMBECK, born 3 March 1839. This family
immigrated to the United States in the 1840's to Kosciusko county
and Elkhart county Indiana. They followed his brother, Charles
STROMBECK (born 16 March 1806) and his wife Ann Elizabeth
Hillabold STROMBECK (born 11 May 1818). They were both born in
Germany and immigrated to Ohio first and then on to Indiana. I
have heard a story about Charles immigrating with two other
cousins and then sending for his brother, WIlliam. One of them
left a port in the Netherlands. I don't have a record of where
either of them arrived in the United States. The other could
have left from Germany. I would like to find out if there are
records of the first family's birth or confirmation or the
marriage of William to Sophia.

I am researching my HAUSCHILD ancestors. I knew they were in
New York City, New York in the 1860's. I recently obtained
church marriage records showing they came from Hannover, Germany.
Heinrich HAUSCHILD, born in 1816 in Koenigreich Hannover,
jt.Durango, Mexico (I am not sure why reference to Mexico!). He
married 22 June 1844 to Irene NICKOLD of Monmouth, Stante, Main,
age 25 years. The marriage was at Saint Matthew's Lutheran
Church, New York City, New York.
Johann Friedrich HAUSCHILD, born 1807 at Buchholz, Amt
Rothenburg, Hannover. He married 23 September 1845 to Sophia
Maria SEILING. Their marriage took place at Saint Matthew's
Lutheran Church, New York City, New York. Sophia Maria SELING
was born in 1814 at Lohe, Amt Neinburg, Hannover. What does the
word "Amt" mean? I would like to find more of their family from
Hannover. I would like to correspond with anyone researching the
HAUSCHILD, NICKOLD, or the SEILING names. If you have any
information on these names I would also appreciate hearing from
you. Thanks.
