I am looking for the family of my grandfather, William
Frederick SHUSSLER (Americanized name), who is from Osnabruk
Germany. He was born 14 February 1890 and immigrated to the U.S.
In 1906 (St. Louis, Missouri area?). He had several brothers and
sisters, but never returned to Germany except during WW I. Any
any info on this family name would be appreciated

I am searching for Frank Herman SCHONFELD, born 17 August 1841,
died 7 April 1910, in Indiana. First wife was a KITTENBRINK,
second wife, Marie "Mary" MIER or MYERS, born 16 June 1855. All
three came from Hannover, Germany as far as I know. Frank's
father was also named Frank and his mother was Lizzie STICKLINER.
They were Catholic. I would appreciate any information on any
or all of these great-grandparents. Thank you.

Johann Dietrich Heinrich KLANDER was born 25 January 1851 near
Hanover. His parents were J. D. and Catherine (?) KLANDER.
There may have been two or more sisters of Johann. He sailed on
the Jupiter from Bremen or Bremerhaven in November 1867, arriving
at New York 3 December 1867. He settled in New Hanover county
North Carolina and married Anna Rebecca BREMER. Some family say
he was known as Klander von Klint, or Klander von Kleist. He was
a Lutheran. Wish to find his parents and siblings and
birthplace. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for my great-great-great-grandparents, Claus
Heinrich WESTERFELD who married Margarethe Agnese THIEMEIER. I
know of one son, Jost (Johann) Heinrich WESTERFELD, born 24
October 1775 in the village of Husede, in Bad Essen Parish. He
married Wilhelmina (Anne Marie) Henriette REDEKER 22 November
1805 in Wehdem Parish (Oppenwehe). Any information greatly
appreciated.

I am researching Heinrich STRUCK and Wilhelmine STENZIG from the
Peine area. My great-grandmother was their daughter Anna
Wihlemina Louise STRUCK, born 1861 and immigrated to the US in
1881. She lived and married in Illinois and they moved to
California. Her parents never came to US. I need to find this
information and any help I would greatly appreciate.

I am looking for information concerning Claus GRAEFER / GRAFER
from Hannover, Germany. His sons Johann Nicholas GRAEFER / GRAFER
(born 17 May 1851) and Bernard GRAEFER / GRAFER (born April 1854)
immigrated to New York City. Claus was married to Marie

I am trying to find the ancestors of Johann Friedrich MENNING
(born 29 November 1831) and Charlotte Wilhelmine
Caroline SCHRAMME (born 10 April 1830? 1834? at Westrup,
Germany). I believe MENNING was married twice but have not found
data to confirm that theory. They had four children: Henritta,
Fredrick Wilhem MENNING (names changed to MANNING in USA), and
William: all these came to USA. One son at Westrup named
Karl-Ludwig MENNING, buried at Ludershagen cemetery (February
1942). Thank you for any help.

I am looking for information on the Johan Friedrich SIEMERING
and Annie Sobie Ilse Dorothy WEISMEN family. The information
that I currently have puts the family at Landesberger,
Prussia. Johan SIEMERING was born 7 February 1771 and died
on 21 July 1816 at Landesberger, Prussia. I have no dates on
his wife, birth or death. The records that I have came from
the Landesberger Lutheran Church. Do you think that you can
help me get back any further? The information that I have on the
church is as follows: Death Records of Lutheran Church Perrant
3076 Landesbergan, Hanover, Germany. I am in search of a map
that would designate where the towns would have been in the late
1760s. May be this would help me; who knows? I do have some
information that I will share with others. Any further help
would be appreciated.

I am looking for any information on Hendrik ITTERBEEK, born in
Hannover, Germany 25 December 1827 and his wife, Harmtje
HAGELSKAMP, born in Hannover, Germany. I have two possible
birthdates dates for Harmtje - 28 December 1838 and August 1831.
I am not sure if either of these are correct. I know very little
about my great grandparents. In the IGI record their marriage is
recorded. It states that Hendrik ITTERBEEK married Hannpye
HORKAMP on 17 February 1867 at Allegan, Michigan. They continued
to live in the Allegan area of Michigan. Hendrik eventually
changed his name to Hendrik ETTERBEEK.
The 1900 census lists Harmtje as immigrating to the US in 1866.
I have no listing for Hendrik. I also believe that they were
members of the Christian Reformed Church. I have a death date
of 12 November 1898 for Hendrik ITTERBEEK (ETTERBEEK) and 1
September 1903 for Harmtje HAGELSKAMP. Her father is listed as
Jan. They were buried in the Overisel Cemetey at Allegan,
Michigan. I feel that I have hit the brick wall. Up until a few
months ago my whole family thought they were from Holland, so we
were quite surprised to find them from Germany. I would
appreciate any help you can give me in locating information on
them.
KONKLIN, Rebecca MESSINA
eMail address: messina@gci.net
I am researching the KONKLIN surname. George KONKLIN was born
in Hannover, Germany in 1810, married Mary before 1837 and
immigrated to America 26 July 1842 on the ship "Stephanie" with
three sons: Robert, Thomas, and George Adam. I know their
history from 1842 on, but cannot find them (under various
spellings of the surname) on the actual ship list. KUNKLIN,
KONKLE, are possibilities. Anyone who thinks they are related,
feel free to eMail me and we can check on it.

I am looking for any information on the Frederick and Angeline
(Annie MEYER) HURRELBRINK. They were Lutheran and had eight
children. A son William and his wife Julia (TURNER) immigrated
to Kansas City, Kansas in 1878. William was born 18 March 1852
in Hannover. I would like any information on this family. Thank
you.
LENTHE, June G.
750 North Big Oak Road NorthWest, Malta, Ohio 43758-9652, USA
eMail address: grameow@morganco.net
I am looking for the birthplace and date for Frederick LENTHE
of Hannover. Fred was born 2 February 1855-1860. His parents are
said to be Conrad LENTHE and Marie or Mary MUSSMAN. Family
stories say he had a relative who was a professor and a
relative who was a tax collector. Fred and his cousin, Adolph
LENTHE, immigrated to the United States together. Adolph was the
same age as Fred. They sailed on the ship "Herman" from
Bremen to Baltimore and arrived 19 August 1885. Both were
listed as millers from Saxony Pfalz. The passenger list I have
is coded for "occupation" and where they were from. I came up
with Saxony / Pfalz. At any rate, my father-in-law told me,
years ago, that his father was from Hanover. At the time, I was
not aware that there was a city and a state of Hanover! He also
said his father was Frederick (?) spelling ? and Fred's parents
were Conrad LENTHE and Mary MUSSMAN.
I have a picture of Fred taken in Germany. In the picture, he
is a very young man standing with an older man next to what
appears to be a small-sized windmill. Supposedly this is Fred
with his millwright teacher. Family stories say he was "von
LENTHE". Upon arrival in the U.S., he went to Iowa where there
was a LENTHE family and I assume these were relatives. He then
went to Cleveland, Ohio where Adolph was living. After
marrying and having 2 children, Fred again went to Iowa with
his wife and 2 small children. Fred's wife didn't like it in
Iowa so they returned to Cleveland, Ohio. In 1985, I visited the
village of Lenthe in the state of Hanover and met the Baron and
Baroness LENTHE. They showed me their family tree and felt that
our Fred was related but did not have him on their tree. The
next "castle" to them was also LENTHE and this family was related
to the "Red Baron".
After 25 years, I have not been able to get past Fred and his
cousin Adolph LENTHE, other than the passenger list. All Fred's
citizenship papers state he was from the City of Hanover and
born February 1860 and Adolph's papers show the same month and
year of birth. From what I understand, Germans had to apply
for permission to leave Germany and I do have copies of
permits of another German family in another line of my
husbands. Where would I find permits for Fred and Adolph to
leave Hanover? I am 76 years old and have done genealogy for 30
years and wouldn't you know, the most important family has had me
stumped ! Of course, all our kids and grandkids are anxious for
me to find out about the LENTHES and here I am, STUCK! Any
advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to locate any information I can about grand
parents from Germany Records. I think they attended the
Lutheran Church. Name: Fritz LINTELMANN, born at Hanover,
Germany, 21 September 1829, died at Fairmont, Minnesota, 25
December 1911; wife #1: - ? Wife #2: Sophie BUETHKER, married
15 November 1872 at LaCrosse, Wisconsin. They had a son,
Frederick D. LINTELMANN, born at Hanover, Germany, 24 July 1869.
I would like to know all the kin and names if available. They
immigrated to the USA in 1871. Thanks for any help you can
give.

According to information passed down in this family, George F.
MEYER was one of 300 men who came from Germany to fight for
the US Federal Union in exchange for land. The year would have
been 1864. Indeed, I have a date of enlistment (National
Archives) as 4 September 1864 into the U. S. Navy in Chicago.
George was born on 3 December 1837 in Hannover. I have been
unable to find his actual date of arrival in the US, but I
feel that it was probably in July or August 1864. I'm
wondering if perhaps there was a special passage carrying all
these men and perhaps that is why I am having so much trouble
locating him on the passenger lists. One of those men might
have been Herman KREIGER, who became George's
brother-in-law, probably in 1865. I don't have the names of
George's parents, either, and I am unsure of how to go about
looking for this information. Another story in the family is
that George's great-grandfather worked in the King's Garden.
But, the names and information have been lost. I sure could
use some help here.

I seek information about and descendants of Statius KARSTENS
or CARSTENS, who was a Lutheran pastor at St. Dionys, Diocese
Bardowick, Hannover during the Thirty Years War. He was born
21 October 1598 in Lueneburg and died 2 February 1670 at
Bardowick. He was twice married. His first wife was
Margaretha BEHR, who bore three daughters whose names I do not
know. On 7 February 1634 he married a second time to Ursula Ann
ULRICH. From that marriage came four sons: Johann, Jacob
Leopold, Georg Ulrich, and Rudolph. I am especially interested
in descendants of the sons. I gladly will share what
information I have.
I am searching for the parents and siblings of Anna CARSTENS
who married Johann Diedrich MUEHLENBRUCH about 1706. She may
have been born at Himbergen, Hannover. She died 27 January
1732 at Roebel, Schwerin, Mecklenburg. Family information
says that her great grandfather, her grandfather, her father
and her brother were Lutheran pastors.

My great-great grandfather Heinrich (Henry) Joseph
FLAGGEemigrated from Hanover, Germany with his wife, Anna Sophia
(STERNITZKY), his two sons, Heinrich Theodore Louis FLAGGE and
Carl Heinrich August FLAGGE and one daughter, Maria Helene
FLAGGE. I have most of the descendant information from this
family, but I have very little information on the parents and
none on siblings of Heinrich Joseph FLAGGE, born 20 February 1851
to Heinrich FLAGGE and Mariana BERSUHN (whose names I got from
Heinrich (Henry) Joseph FLAGGE's death certificate). I would
appreciate any information on any FLAGGE family line that could
lead me to such information or how I might gather more
information on this family. Most of the Germany papers I have
and have had translated are from the St. Clemens Church at
Hanover.
MOVIUS, John
P. O. Box 2660, Salt Lake City, Utah 84151-2660, USA
eMail address: feefhs@feefhs.org
Addie H. WARING MOVIUS was born 10 December 1865, married Emil
Anton MOVIUS 1 October 1881 at Big Stone City, Dakota Territory,
and died of Parkinson's disease circa 1942 at Fargo, North
Dakota; burial at the E. A. Movius mausoleum at Pleasant View
Cemetery, Lidgerwood, North Dakota. Her father was Ransom
WARING, the son of Daniel Webster Waring. Her mother was
Elizabeth ROBINSON WARING, who died 16 May 1904. It is thought
that she was born in Virginia or Kentucky and was probably raised
in Missouri. After her husband's sudden death in 1916, she moved
to Fargo North Dakota. In 1926 she moved from 1104 13th Street
North to 1330 11th Avenue South at Fargo. In 1927 she moved to
1431 5th Avenue South at Fargo, where she was still living circa
1940. In 1932 she provided a statement for the "Pioneer Mother's
Index" at the Dakota Heritage Center at Bismarck, North
Dakota.
Addie and Emil had 4 children: 1) Leonard Bruce MOVIUS,
(1882-1904). 2) John WARING MOVIUS, (1893-1947), married a)
Alice Jane
Schomer (born 1896 at Franfurt am main, Germany, died 1984 at
Minneapolis, MN) in February 1915 at Hannover, Germany; divorce
[Est: late 1919 or early 1920] at Minneapolis, Minnesota. (Alice
was the daughter of Otto Schomer and Emma Wilhelmina Franke and
had a sister Karola and a brother Hans Otto). John W. then
married b) Beryl Begsley (married 10 Feb circa 1921 at Crystal,
North Dakota. He died 23 Septmber 1947 at Long Beach, Los
Angeles county CA; burial at Westminster Memorial Park,
Westminster, CA). 3) George WARING MOVIUS (born 15 March 1897 at
Lidgerwood, ND; died January 1965 at Chicago ?, Illinois. The
family lost track of him when he lived at Fleet, Alberta Canada
in 1926.) 4) Henriette MOVIUS (born 1911 at Lidgerwood, ND; died
1911 at Lidgerwood, ND).
While I have some addition information on John's first and second
wife and children, I am looking for more information on Addie's
ancestors, more on Alice Schomer, more on George Waring Movius,
(need his 1965 ? obituary printed somewhere in the greater
Chicago area), and any possible decendents of his. I am willing
to share genealogy details with others searching any of these
lines.
MUEGGENBURG, John R. Sr.
eMail address: bmbm_lvi@madisontelco.com
I am seeking information on my great-grandparents Christoph
MUEGGENBURG and Margaret TRUE (maiden name), parents of my
grandfather Christoph Fredrick MUEGGENBURG, born 12 June 1858.
My grandfather emigrated from Hamburg to the USA aboard the ship
"Hammonia" on 16 April 1887, arriving at New York on 18 April
1887. Either on board ship or upon arrival in New York he
married Ida Sophie Charlotte MENKE of Hamburg. The MUEGGENBURG
family supposedly lived in Hannover. Thank you for your
assistance.

I am interested in any information on this surname dduring the
period of 1800-1860. I am a direct decendant of Barone zum BERGE

I am seeking the place and date of birth and parents of August
FEUERHAHN or FEUERHAN, born about 1830 in Hanover, married to
Franziska (Franciska) (unknown last name) who was born around
1834. They probably married about the early to mid 1850's.
August emigrated from Bremen, Germany on the ship "Astronom" and
arrived at New York on 8 June 1963. His occupation was musician.
His wife and three children immigrated to the US the next year on
the ship "Borussia", from the ports of Hamburg & Southampton and
arrived aat New York on 23 November 1864 with her three
children: August FEUERHAHN, male, age 6 years; Erwin, male,
age 4 months and Franz, male, age 7 years. In the 1870 US
Federal census: August FEUERHAHN, 40, male, white,
musician, $500 (personal estate), Hanover; Francisca 36
female, white, keeping house, Hanover; Emily, 6 years, female,
white, Hanover; Robert 2 years, male, white, New York. I don't
know what happen to the two boys August and Franz that came over
with their mother in 1864. I am not sure if Erwin, male and
Emily female are the same child and there was an error in the
records. Erwin born in Hanover would have been about 6 in 1870
census. There was no sign of the other two boys after arrival in
New York. Any help with this family would be much appreciated.
I have a little more information to share if someone would like
it.

eMail address: rrupers@fuse.net
Our stories have been passed down as family heritage. Some great
grandchildren believe Heinrich was descended from German royalty.
Pauline RUPERS BOYNTON says Henry RUPERS (also known as Heinrich
RUPERT ?) immigrated to America as a stow away when 14 years old
(1855?) . Pauline was told by her father, Albert H. RUPERS, that
Henry wrote to his father in Germany 3 or 4 years later to
announce his upcoming marriage. The father sent him money for
passage to Germany. He kept the money and did not go to Germany.
The 1880 US Federal Census lists Henry's birthplace and his
parent's birth place as Prussia. Occupation: StoneCutter. Ref:
1880 Federal Census, Indiana Schedule 1, Ripley county, Center
Township, Page 2, Enumeration District 153, NARA microfilm no.
307. Osgood, Ripley county, Indiana records list Henry's
birthplace, and his parents birthplace, as Hanover, Prussia.
Research of Volumes 1-24, Germans to America; Edited by Ira A.
Glazier and P.William Filby; passengers arriving US ports;
found no record of a passenger listed as Henry RUPERS or
Heinrich RUPERT, b. 1841, arriving in the USA from Prussia.
Any information for Henry RUPERS (also known as Heinrich RUPERT?)
will be much appreciated.

I wonder if someone could add some information to this family:
Johannes Coert Coenraad KOEHLENBERG / KOHLENBERG,
suikerraffinadeursknecht, born at Lowenstyl circa 1763, living
at Dordrecht, died there on October 10, 1826, son of Jurgen
Christoffel KOEHLENBERG / KOHLENBERG and Maria VANNIKOLDEN. He
entered a notice of marriage at Dordrecht 6 November 1800 and was
married there 22 November 1800 to Maria Sofia Magdalena BOREN,
born at Geeve circa 1771, died at Dordrecht on 24 August 1826,
daughter of Johannes BHERE and Christina Engelina WARNEK. I
can't find the places Lowenstyl and Geeve, but it should be
in "het Hannoversche Land". The people I mentioned were born
in Germany, according to the Dutch documents: "in het
Hannoversche land" (the district of Hannover). The Dutch
clerks wrote down "Geeve" and "Lowenstyl" as native towns, but
probably that will not be the right spelling. I wish I could
find the places (I think they will be in the same area) with
names that look like that.
TEBBEN, Steve
eMail address: tebbensm@email.msn.com
I am looking for any data on Heinrich Gerd TEBBEN, born
approximately 1825. He immigrated from Hanover, Germany to the
United States in approximately 1848. He may have came over seas
with a sister who died shortly after arriving at New Orleans.
Thanks for any help you can give. I have been looking for this
missing link for ten years.
WEISS, Susan
eMail address: sweiss_01@email.msn.com
I am looking for information on my great-great-grandparents.
The family is from a small town named Bucken, which is located
between the cities of Hannover and Bremen. My
great-great-great-grandfather was Conrad FISCHER and my
great-great-great-grandmother was Sophie ROSEN-HAGEN. I
understand that the
FISCHER family at Bucken dates back to the 1600's. I do not know
anything about the ROSEN-HAGEN family.
Conrad and Sophie were married at Bucken and they had 6
children, all born at Bucken. I was able to get a copy of a
church record of births for the children: Johann Heinrich
Anton FISCHER (my GGF) born 18 November 1866; Bernhard Georg
Diederich FISCHER born 1 April 1869; Anne Marie Margarethe
FISCHER born 12 January 1872; Louise Dilhilmine Marie FISCHER
born 28 November 1873; Sophie Catharine Marie FISCHER born 18
April 1875; Anne Marie Sophie FISCHER born 24 January 1878. A
curious note: why do all the girls names have "Marie" in them?
Five of the children immigrated to the US before they married.
One daughter, Sophie, married a Johann KOGGE, and immigrated to
the US after his death in 1920. They had 2 children born in
Germany, Henry and Anne. I would really like to find out more
about Conrad and Sophie and their ancestors so I can add some
branches to my family tree.
WESTER, Phil
eMail address: wester@cableone.net
(Roman Catholic)
I am looking for information on the WESTER family. Supposedly
came from Hanover. John Bernard WESTER was born 7 August 1853
and his wife Theckla GROTEGEERS was born 12 March 1859. The
parents of John B. WESTER listed in church records in St. Louis
as Gerhadrt WESTER and Helena GERTKEN. He married a Theckla
GROTEGEERS, her parents are listed as Johann GROTEGEERS and
Helenae Stevens. John B. WESTER arrived at St. Louis, Missouri
1879. Thet were Roman Catholic and dairy farmers. On one of the
US Census records the person taking the census orginally wrote
Hanover, crossed it out and wrote Germany. That is my clue to
the origin of their birthplace. The city of Hanover or the
Province? Who knows. My Dad thinks he remembers his father
saying Hamburg, but he is not sure. I would like to start
searching some Catholic Church records from the Hanover area but
am having trouble determining which fell in the old Hanover area
(City or Province ?)
