I am looking for family of origin of Christoph OETINGER, Fridericke Katherine SCHRODT, and/or living relatives of same. Karoline Christine OETINGER was born 24 December 1872, a Lutheran, at Schutzingen, Wurttemburg, Germany. She immigrated to America, arriving at the USA 24 March 1889 (Bremen to New York) on the ship "Ems" as Karole OETINGER, and married Jurgen BRAUN on 3 December 1899 at New York City. The marriage certificate indicated her mother was Friedericke Katherine SCHRODT and her father was Christoph OETINGER. Is there a civil record to support her birth? Any possible common descendants of her parents that I can contact for family history? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

BERNER, John M.

eMail address: bernerjc@earthlink.net

(Protestant, Lutheran)

I am seeking the parents of two early to mid 1800's Wuerttemberg protestant families - BERNER and SPEIDEL. Gottfried BERNER was born 1845 or 1846 at Hildrizhausen, Boblingen District Baden-Wuerttemeberg. Gottfried married Agnes Louise SPEIDEL, born 1843 or 1844 at Moessingen, Wuerttemberg. They were married in the USA. Gottfried BERNER and Agnes SPEIDEL immigrated on the ship "Hermann" from Bremen to New York and arrived 19 June 1869. They moved to Buffalo, New York where Gottfried was a Lutheran minister. Jacob Friederich BERNER was born 9 November 1848 in Hildrizhausen, Boblingen District Baden-Wuerttemeberg. Gottfried married Rosine SPEIDEL born 28 June 1853 of Moessingen, Wuerttemberg. I believe Rosine SPEIDEL emigrated on the ship "Hansa" from Bremen to New York and arrived 6 December 1869. They moved to Buffalo, New York where Jacob was a well-known merchant. Jacob and Gottfried may have had a sister Katherina and 3 half-siblings. I am seeking parents for the Gottfried, Jacob, Agnes and Rosine. Johann Friederich BERNER and ? may be the father of Gottfried, Jaccob and Katherina. Johann Friederich BERNER and his second wife Barbara Buhler (they possibly married 22 February 1863) may be the paents of Christine BERNER (1870- ?), a second Katherina BERNER and Maria BERNER. The BERNER family may have been members of a protestant chuch at Altdorf, 3 kilometers from Hildrizhausen. Hildrizhausen is north of Tubingen and southwest of Stuttgart. Moessingen is south of Stuttgart.

We are searching for details regarding the side of my wife's family. Johann Michael BREITMEYER was born on 15 August 1770 at Thalheim, Schwarzwald, Wuerttemberg, and married to Anna Margaretha HAUG on 12 November 1795 in the same city. Any information would be appreciated.

We are also searching for another generation of this family. Johann BREITMEYER, born on 1 April 1805 at Talheim, Schwergn, Wuerttemberg was married to Magaretha LINDEMANN on 28 July 1831 (Evangelisch) at Kandel, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany. In 1840 they immigrated to New Zealand. Any references to this family would be appreciated.

LAUTERSTEIN, Yaacovi
eMail address: yaacovi@netvision.net.il

I am searching for my ancestors - Simon and Goldie Rose LAUTERSTEIN - or any of his brothers. The LAUTERSTEIN family's origin is in Tilsit - now Sovestk, but Simon lived at Sterpeiken which is now in Poland, and in Laugszargen, (near Taurage-Tavrig) which is now Lauksargiai - in the middle of the 19th century. Simon LAUTERSTEIN was of the jewish religion. I live in Israel - near Haifa, have been an only child, and would like to leave my children some information about their roots. I will be very thankful for any advice how and where to trace the Lautersteins.

I am trying to find a ship listing. Andreas KOEHLER his wife Elisabeth born 10 June 1802, had these children: Jakob, born 9 March 1829; Dorothea born 28 Apr 1831, Jakobina, born 20 January 1833; Conrad, born 21 January 1835; Susanna, born 21 September 1836; Andreas, born 7 July 1838; and Karolina, born 1 June 1846. They filed for application to imigrate to America in March 1847. The children were born at Erdmannhausen, Marbach, Wuerttemberg. They settled in Ohio. How do I find the ship they went on. I do not know what port they left or arrived at.

MUDGE, Terry

eMail address: tjmudge@epix.net

(Lutheran)

Gottlob TRAUB was born 22 January 1824 in Wuerttemberg - probably at Unterschlechtbach, near the district town of Welzheim. He was a Lutheran. He married Catherine (?) who was born in Bavaria on 2 January 1826. I believe they applied for emigration in March 1849. I am looking for any links to him in Germany - especially to find his parents, information about his marriage, information from his application for immigration to the U.S. I would be most grateful for any help in learning more about this great-great-grandfather.

NIEHAUS, Allene ROLLIER
eMail address: MNiehaus@worldnet.att.net

I am searching for the parents and family of Francis WATTERER (or possibly WATTER or WITTER). She was born 1817 at the village of Wolfach (or perhaps Wolfbach). She went to America to visit her brother in Cincinnati, Ohio. She met and married John B. WEYTHMAN 1 June 1840. I would also like information on Wolfach / Wolfbach and the area around it in BadenWuerttemberg. Thanks.

SENN, Robyn

(Roman Catholic)

I am tracing my husband's family from Germany. Conrad SENN was married to Cresentia JUNKER as far as I know in Wuerttemberg. They had 7 children: Maria Josepha, born 27 October 1817; Johann Baptist, born 4 November 1818; Matthias Conrad, born 21 February 1820; Maria Martha, born 31 July 1821; Joseph Anton, born 4 February 1824, (my husbands direct line); Georg Fidelis, born 18 April 1825; and Rosalie Sepaphina, born 3 September 1828. Joseph Anton SENN departed Hamburg for Adelaide, Australia, immigrating on the ship "Alfred" on 5 June 1852. He was a tailor / missionary and a Roman Catholic. Other details I have are he was born as his siblings at Obereschech, Donaukreis, Wuerttemberg. I do not know if the spelling of these places is right or even if they are towns. Any assistance will be gratefully appreciated.

SMITH, Carole

eMail address: MaryFernS@aol.com

(SAUTER - Lutheran, KIRNS - perhaps Catholic ?)

I am looking for information regarding the family and location in Wurttemburg from which Jacob "Friederich" SAUTER / SAUDER came. He was born 1789, married 1) Catherine WEBER, and married 2) Agatha KIRNS, born 1797, who had also been previously married. He and both wives were born in Wurttemburg. Jacob "Friederich" SAUTER and Agatha KIRNS immigrated to the United States in 1837, going directly to Fairfield county, Ohio. Jacob "Friederich" SAUTER, his wife, Agatha KIRNS, and all of his children from both marriages moved to Seneca county, Ohio about 1847. He died in 1863 in Seneca county, Ohio, and Agatha died in 1862 in Seneca county, Ohio. The children of Jacob "Friederich" SAUTER and Catherine WEBER were Christian, Gottlieb, Louisa, Frederick, Charles W., John, and Louis SOUDER, all born in Wurttemburg. The children of Jacob "Friederich" SAUTER and second wife, Agatha KIRNS, were George Frederick SOUDER, born 1858 in Fairfield county, Ohio, and John Adam SOUDER, born 1842 in Fairfield county, Ohio.

WEICH, David Edward

I am searching for ancestral information on Joseph WEICH and Wilhelmina BUCK. Wilhelmina BUCK was possibly born in Wurttemburg in 1858. Joseph WEICH was born in Bavaria (date unknown) and naturalized as an American citizen in 1853 at Cincinnati, Hamilton county, Ohio, USA. After immigrating to the US, Joseph WEICH had a son in Cincinnati, Ohio by the name of Edward A. WEICH. Edward A. WEICH married Wilhelmina BUCK at Cincinnati, Ohio. Together they had seven boys and one girl: Joseph, Edward, Arthur, Elmer, Clifford, Frank, Gene and Helen. I would appreciate any information on this family. Thank you very much.
