John C. Alleman, is a cofounder of FEEFHS (1992) and the founding Editor of the FEEFHS Newsletter. His professional experience is a professional linguist and computer specialist with a graduate degree in linguistics.

As a professional linguist, he translates many languages, including Finnish, Hungarian, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Russian, Italian, Esperanto and many other European languages into English, is a member of the Finno-Ugric Society and has done research in Silesia.

He was employed by the LDS Church Translation Department for over 18 years. Most of that time he was manager of its computer systems, which he developed to handle translation of over 100 non-English languages.
