It was a pleasure to receive your email. Unfortunately, most of my research and sources pertain to Hutterite history post-1750, when Carinthian Transmigrants to Wallachia revitalized the Hutterite movement. I have spent considerable time in the Klagenfurt Landesarchiv as well as the Archiv Dioezese Gurk in an attempt to trace the genealogy of these Carinthian exiles further back.

I was particularly interested in the "Krypto-protestant" movement in the Spittal district from 1700-1750, and the involvement of the later Hutterite families (Glanzer, Miller, Hofer, Wurz and Waldner) in this religious dissension. My original intention was to publish a family history of my ancestors "the Millers", which is still in preparation. I distributed much of the information I collected on the web, with the hope that it would assist others who might be tracing their heritage through these families.

I had heard that some of the Hutterite letters of Ehrenpreis and others were still in the possession of Hutterite colonies on the prairies, but have not seen or had access to them. Contact through one of the Hutterite pastors is probably the best way to secure a copy of these.

Unless you have any objections, I will post a copy of your request on the HUTRL web page. Several Hutterite colonies actually have web-access, and have spoken an interest in the FEEFHS webpage. Also, if you would like to contribute anything regarding the history of this group, we would greatly value your contributions. Regards, Evan Eichler

Dear Mr. Eichler: Thank you very much for you email which received me very soon. It was a pleasure for me. And thank you for your information and the tips you gave. I have no objections that you will post a copy of my request to the web page. Perhaps it will be good and very helpful for my research. I wish you all the best for your own research on the Hutterite families; from time to time I will visit your web page to see what is new and to see if there are some informations that I need for my work. I would be glad to be informed about your research and your work. So thank you again and all the best for you. Regards, Astrid v. Schlachta
