![]() Kahlile Mehr speaks on genealogical research in the Balkans: Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia Our 2010 workshop in Salt Lake City wrapped up on Saturday, July 31. About 50 people took part in the event, and we are already planning for a similar workshop on the summer of 2011. The format is simple, and seems to work. We offer six sessions each morning -- two at a time -- and then everyone can shift next door to the Family History Library. Participants can work on their own, or they can seek help from the FEEFHS speakers. The small group means that everyone can spend time with the specialists from FEEFHS. This means that everyone can check records and chase leads immediately. Several of the attendees reported great progress on their research, thanks to a large extent to the format of our workshop. Many people said that they will be back next year. We will post the dates for the next workshop as soon as plans have been completed. Our venue will once again be the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel. Our plans will be based on having about 50 to 60 attendees, so early registration will help ensure a spot. ![]() The Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah Welcome to FEEFHS! The Federation of East European Family History Societies (FEEFHS) was organized in 1992 as an umbrella organization that promotes family research in eastern and central Europe without any ethnic, religious, or social distinctions. It provides a forum for individuals and organizations focused on a single country or group of people to exchange information and be updated on developments in the field. While it primarily serves the interests of North Americans in tracing their lineages back to a European homeland, it welcomes members from all countries. FEEFHS.org is one of the true veterans of the Internet, linking Central and East European researchers since the spring of 1996. We helped many of our member societies make their move onto the Web at a time when HTML coding was still a mysterious art and Google was just an idea.
