As of 2006, the initial offering of the American Historical society of Germans from
Russia's SOAR database is now available. Over thirty-five years of active
obituary collections are now ready for Keyword/Soundex searching.
There is no charge for searching the database, but a fee is required to
download and print materials. The fee helps support the costs associated
with continuing the project. Obituaries are available for persons originating
from the German Russian regions of Volhynia, Black Sea, Volga, Ukraine, Poland,
Bessarabia, and Caucasus; and, are from all 50 states, especially those with
large concentrations of Germans from Russia, and countries such as Argentina,
Brazil, Germany and Canada.
