The Kashubian Association of North America (KANA) encourages the use of lists of researchers to aid in genealogical research and to allow contact with others who have similar family roots or ancestral home areas. Further, KANA feels there is a vital need to offer genealogical information and assistance to record searchers, both on and off the World Wide Web. Thus we are creating KANARL.

KANARL (KANA Research List) is a new Kashubian genealogy data base, created and maintained under the auspices of KANA and posted on the WWW by FEEFHS. We offer to post on it your questions in the context of what you know about your own family history.

This entry ( = query ) will include what you know and care to share about the full names of your pedigree ancestor and spouse - please only capitalize the SURNAME - at least one generation of their descendants and what you kn.ow about them (birth, marriage and death date or year and location). Please also try to include, where possible, the parish and village of origin and the area of emigration/resettlement (in the US, Canada or elsewhere).

This new KANARL database is designed to augment KANA's committment to help Kashubian researchers - (newbies, intermediate and experienced record searchers alike) that were previously referred by KANA to the KRL.

Further, the new list will be in the style of the PLRL (Polish Research List). (You can always find it from anywhere on the FEEFHS Website using the Website Index [a navigation link at the top and bottom of every FEEFHS web page] and then type in either PLRL [to see this Research List] or KANARL, to find it next time).

To be of even more benefit and make Kashubian related record searches more fruitful, eventually we plan to include (1) a separate summary of all researching each name or surname (with all its varied spelling
transliterations), and (2) a summary of all researching in each Kashubian parish and the initial place where they resettled after emigration.
