The Asian Russian Empire - Siberia and The Russian Far East (7 Maps - 1.531 Mb):
Source:These maps are all from the same 1882 Atlas - Comprehensive Atlas and
Geography of the World by Blackie and Sons of Edinburg, Scotland (CA&GW).
Scale: The Trans-Ural (Asian) Russian Maps of Siberia and the Russian Far East are
at a scale of 1:12,672,000 or 1 inch = about 200 miles. It is quite reasonable, considering the
small number of towns and cities and the great distances between them.
(This scale contrasts with that used for the European Russian maps, which are at a scale of
1:6,100,000 or 1 inch = approximately 96 miles. The map of the Polish provinces of the
Russian Empire [The Russian partition of Poland] is from a different atlas - Century
Dictionary and Cyclopaedic Atlas [CD&CA] dated 1902 and at a scale of 1:5,128,200 or
1 inch = 80.9 miles).
These CA&GW maps cover the Guberniyas streching east from the Ural Mountains,
which are considered the geographic boundary between Europe and Asia:
