CWIKLINSKI, Judy
Whitesville, New York

(Roman Catholic)

I am compiling information on the CWIKLINSKI family of Erie county New York. They came here prior to 1900 but do not show up in the 1880 Soundex (Federal Census) for New York State. The father I presume to be Jozef CWIKLINSKI, born 17 March 1836 German Poland, died 26 December 1915 at Buffalo, Erie county New York and is buried in St. Stanislaus Cemetery at Cheektowaga, Erie county New York. My father in-law before his death said that all CWIKLINSKI families of Erie County are related - there was also a Uncle of his that moved to Pittsburg, Alleghany county Pennsylvania.

Other CWIKLINSKI families listed in 1900 Soundex include: Aleksander, Frank, Jan, Stanislaus and another Frank. My husband's proven ancestor is: Joseph CWIKLINSKI who married Hedwig FRONCKOWIAK - they had children: Walter (Wladyslaw), Stanley, William, John, Mary, Tilly, Frank and a daughter who maried a Mr. LAJACK. Any CWIKLINSKI information would be appreciated.

I am researching the following names: My paternal grandmother; Veronica BUCZEK STARUCHOWICZ was born 1884 at Sanok. The parish is listed as Zarszyn, in the Przemyl District of Galicia. My paternal Grandfather, Stanislaw MILASZEWSKI born 1883, was the son of Hipolit and Victoria BOGDANOWICZ MILASZEWSKI both Roman Catholics. He had a brother Tofij (Joseph) and four sisters, Stephania, Alexandra, Konstantsa and Anna. Stanislaw had a cousin Felix ROMANOVSKI who wrote to him from Pittsburg, USA in 1961. GULCZYNSKI, Edward L.
eMail address: EGulcz@aol.com

(Roman Catholic)

Boleslaus T. GULCZYNSKI was born April 1871 and emigrated to the US in 1886. His sister, Marcella, born 1878, emigrated to the US in 1896 as the wife of Boleslaus KOSHMENSKI. Boleslaus GULCZYNSKI married W. KRAUSE in 1900. W. KRAUSE was the daughter of Casper and Francesca KRAUSE who emigrated to the US with elder daughter (Pelagia, born 1871) in 1874. Boleslaus GULCZYNSKI worked as a tailor in Wilmington and Philadlephia and may have learned his trade in Poland. His brother, no one remembered his name, passed through Philadelphia shortly after 1910 and left his violin. I am pursuing the origins of the GULCZYNSKIs and the KRAUSEs and any clues about the missing brother. Census records suggest KRAUSE origins were in Prussia. Boleslaus' declaration of intent says he was from Galicia.

I am searching for information on the KUKLA and KOBESKI families in the region of Lomza (formerly Bialystok). My mother Alexsandra KUKLA, was born November 1894 and emigrated to the USA in 1912. She was born in what is now known as Nowa Wies, Lomza. She had two brothers and one sister. One brother, Ladislaw, came to USA before my mother and died in the United States. The other brother Julik, emigrated to the USA around 1925, stayed until the early 1930's and returned to Poland. The sister, whose name I cannot provide, came to USA around 1910 and died in the United States. My uncle Julik had two daughters, one now deceased and the other presently living in Nowa Wies, Lomza. I do not know her name.

My father, Anthnio B. KOBESKI born March 1891 and came to USA in 1909. My father and his brother Edward were born at Zubole, Lomza. Edward stayed in Poland and had a daughter named Jawiga who is presently living in Nowa Wies, Lomza, but do not know her married name (she knows of me by the name of Florcia). One of my sisters went to Poland around seven years ago and met with cousins from both sides of the family at a local church and then visited in their homes. She will not provide the family with any information? My father and mother settled in Scranton, Pennsylvania and reared seven children. They are both deceased since the 1960's Any help regarding the above will be greatly appreciated.

PARKER, Judy

(Roman Catholic)

I am searching for the district in Poland that my grandmother, KULESZA, Agatha came from. Her father was Wincentego or Vincent KULESZA and her mother was Briggidy DROZDOIS or DROTZ. I know nothing more about them. I have a birth certificate of my grandmothers brother that states the Archdiocese as Wilenska and the parish as Babinsku. Other than the archdiocese and the names, there are two other words that might be of significance and that is: Dridach and Dudrkiego. I am not sure what either of these two words mean or if they are the area where the church (Roman Catholic) is. My grandmother was born in 1883 and died in Massachusetts in 1971. She married Benjamin KRUPSKY in 1907 in South Boston, Massachuesetts., and had 8 children. There is much more information I would like to research but I need to know where to start. Finding the district where my grandmother came from is the most important at this time.

PIETRZAK, Andrzej
France
eMail address: widehem@univ-littoral.fr

I am searching my family tree. I was born in France in 1949. My father, Leon PIETRZAK, was born in Poland in 1920 at Kruszwica. His father, Franek PIETRZAK, was born in 1889 in Poland but I don't where. He came to France in 1922 to work in north France in the coal industry. His wife, Agnes JOZWIAK, was born in Poland, but also I don't know if she came with my grandfather at the same date. They had 7 children. My mother, Irena KACMAREK, was born in France in 1925. Her father, Laurentz KACZMAREK, was born in Poland and also his wife Barbara BLAZYK. They escaped together from Poland after the 1st world war ? I suppose through Germany and coming to north France to work in coal industry. They had 5 children. Some family members died in Nazi camps, but I have no information about the camps and the names of members of my family deported. I may still have family members in Poland, perhaps in south of Poland (Walbrzych).

I am looking for my Great-grandfather's family in Debica Poland. He was born to John DEBSKI and Katherine KOSIBA 28 May 1847. His place of birth was Gawrzylowa, Debica, Poland. He married Marrianna STONOK, 6 November 1872, at St Hedwig Church, Debica, Poland. As far as I can tell from the baptism, marriage, and death certificates, all their families religious activities were from St Hedwig's. Stanislaus had two brothers that came to the US with him. They were Michael and John DEBSKI. They brought their families to Detroit, Michigan where they had more children, including one born on the boat to the US. I have just about all the family charted in the US and would be glad to trade for the family they might still have in Poland. Thank you

I am researching my Family History... I know that Joseph WOJCIECHOWSKI (aka, Alexander Joseph Wincenzo WOJCIECHOWSKI) was born in Poland approx 1825 and that he and Emily EISEMANN entered England sometime between 1854 and 1859. Their first daughter Eleanor was born in Genoa, Italy, approx 1853 and their 2nd child Ladyslas Alexander Joseph was born in Holborn, England on 17th April 1859. How they got from Poland to Genoa is still a mystery. Ladyslas later changed his name to Alexander John WOY and married Clara Macdermott CORBY. Their first daughter Edith Clare WOY married my Grandfather Edwin Caush SUTTON. Any information would be gratefully recieved.

I am looking for the parents of Max SIMON from Sokolow, Austria, now in Poland. He was born 1891 at Sokolow to Froian Ephraim and Ruchle SIMON ASHER. There were at least two sons -- Harry and Max; and one daughter (I do not know her name). He emigrated to the United States about 1901, but I do not know if Harry came before him. The family settled in New York, and both worked in the garment industry. When they came to the United States the children took the maiden name of the mother. Max later married Mae GOTTLIEB about 1926. Max died 22 December 1890 at Indianapolis, Indiana. If anybody has any information on the family, I would appreciate it.

WESOLOWSKI, Joan
eMail address: Ibeski@aol.com

I am searching for any information or material on the surname WESOLOWSKI. My grandparents emigrated to the United States from Poland prior to World War II and settled at South Bend, Indiana. I have their wedding certificate and a copy of one of my aunt's birth certificate. They came from Wojewodstwo Poznanskie, Powiat Gniezno and were married 29 May 1894. My grandfather, Stanislaw WESOLOWSKI was born 12 April 1867 and my grandmother Marianna JANKOWSKA was born 13 September 1873. I believe that my paternal great grandmother's maiden name was Fanciszka WOZNIAK and that my maternal great grandmother's maiden name was Antonina CHMIEL. These facts I received from my grandparents marriage license. Where can I search for more information? I know that my father had a first cousin who emigrated to Canada after World War II and his name was Valery or Valarian WESOLOWSKI.
