We both know detailed genealogical research is never easy. It's tough to keep track of where you've been, the sources you've verified and all the places you can check to find out more about your ancestors.

My Aunt Doris, who helped spur my interest in genealogy, had the habit of scribbling notes to herself about her research—reminders of all the things she needed to do. Unfortunately, she ended up losing many of these notes—and was forced to re-do a great deal of painstaking, time-consuming research.

Not long ago, I convinced her to try Daily Journal. Combining the convenience of a word processor with the safety of a diary, this unique software program seemed a natural for my aunt! She could arrange her entries by topic, including those related to her job, family, daily experiences and--yes--her genealogy research.

I talked to Aunt Doris over the Fourth of July. She said it takes just a few minutes each day to add her thoughts to her Daily Journal. She's also thrilled she can search for specific references to words or phrases, as well as print all the entries related to her Genealogy subject!
