I am searching for information on the
GLAVACH family. My great
grandfather Andrew GLAVACH and his brother Joseph GLAVACH came to
the United States around 1906. Andrew Glavach was born 27
November 1889, at (we believe) Crensovci, Slovenia. I am trying
to determine any information on Andrew, his parents, and his
siblings. I am also looking for any information relating to his
voyage to America (Ship Name, Port, etc.). We have some
unverified information that his father was John GLAVAC' and his
mother was Marija CULIC'. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

eMail address: bgorsha@linknet.net
I am seeking information on my grand
parents, JOHN GORSHA and his
wife MATTIE WILLIAMS. They lived in Tangipahoa Parish in south
Louisiana. They had a son, my father, JOHN GORSHA, who died in
1956 at Morgan City, Louisiana. They lived at or near Frenier,
Louisiana from about 1890 to 1901. My father, John Gorsha was
raised by a Picou family, and according to the 1900 census was
born about 1895. I need help badly, and am willing to pay
whatever it costs, within reason, for help in finding out
something about my ancestors.

I am very interested in my mother's
family, who are from Skofja
Loka and Godesic. My mother's maiden name is Ann HAFNER. Her
parents, my grandparents, are Mary KRIZJA (maiden name) born
1880 and Joseph HAFNER, born 1878 or 1879. My grandmother's
brother's name is Frank KRIZJA. My grandfather's mother's name
is Polona HAFNER. My grandfather also has a brother named Steven
HAFNER. I know of some cousins to my mother's family with the
last name of BOBNAR. Mother's name is Ana (KRIZJA) BOBNAR. Her
children are: Peter (who I believe still lives in Skofja Loka),
Michael (I have met him and he lives in Australia), Alex (I have
met him, he lives in Canada), Ludvik and Ivanka. My mother's
sisters and brothers are: Joseph (born September 1905), Mary
(born October 1906), Paula (born January 1908), Molly, John and
Millie. Joseph, Mary and Paula were born in Skofja Loka, the rest
in the USA. The home my grandparents lived in is still being
lived in by either my BOBNAR or KRIZJA cousins. If you know of
anyone that may be related to me, I would be very thankful if you
would eMail me the information. I want my children and now my
grandchildren to know their roots. My mother's name is Anne
HAFNER GREENWOOD. I am sorry that I cannot read Slovenian, but
my mother can.

I am seeking information regarding
birth information for my
grandfather, Frank (France) LEVSTIK and uncle John (Janez)
LEVSTIK born at Ribnica, Slovenia, in the 1880's. I have an
interest in obtaining information regarding their parents.

My grandfather was born circa 1862 at
Chernawka, Bukowina
(Bukovyna), Austria, with the first name Gregory (Georg) PASCAL. He
married Anita Anna BODNARIUC, circa 1887. My father was born
3 February 1894 at Cernowitz (Chernivtsi, Cernovcy), Bukowina
(Bukovyna) (or possibly Chernawka), Austria with the given name
of Vacile PASCAL. They emigrated to Canada circa 1912. Vacile
used the name William in Canada, possibly a given name of
Wilhelm? He found work at Calgary, Alberta Canada, reported as a
registered alien at Banff, Alberta, Canada, during WW I. He
arrived at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada in 1916 and
married Clara Emma BROCKMAN 25 December 1920. Shortly after
arriving in Rocky Mountain House, he went to work for Canadian
National Railways. He received his naturalization papers in 1921
with the name William PASKALL. I have no record of any name
change. Any information would be appreciated immensely.
PETKOVSEK, III, Lucas
5575 Duff Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706-, USA
Lucas PETKOVSEK (my grandfather) was born 4 October 1855, at Laibach,
Austria. He emigrated to the US in October 1877 via New
Orleans, LA. He married in New Orleans in 1880 and his marriage license
states his parents were Andrew and Ursula Petkovsek.
Lucas, never returned to his homeland, and died in Natchez,
Mississippi in 1936. Family records confirm the preceding
information. A request to the Ljubljuna church found no record
of Lucas Petkovsek's birth, or Andrew Petkovsek and Ursula (Last
Name Unknown) marriage. I would appreciate any information, advice, or
assistance in ways to further search for information
about him.

I am searching for information on my grandfather, John PEVEC. To
the best of my knowledge, he was born at Ljubljana, in a town
called Malaloka between the years of 1887-1889. We know that he
served in the Austrian army prior to coming to the United States.
What we would like to know is the month, day, and year of his
birth, the name of the church in which he was baptized (we
believe he was Catholic), the name of the priest or pastor who
baptized him, the christian name and surnames of both his mother
and father (my great-grandparents). Finally, the correct spelling
of the last name PEVEC - is it PEVEC or PEVC? (We can verify
this by either the church or baptismal certificate) If you
uncover any additional information, I would be very greatful in
anything you are able to provide me. My appreciation in advance.

I am looking for information on the SINUR family. Frank SINUR
immigrated before the turn of the century, came to Cleveland,
Ohio, and married Marie KOTZMAN about 1900, also from Slovenia.
They came from Ljubljana or near there. Then they moved to
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Frank SINUR's brother John was a mayor of
Ljubljana, or some town close by. I would appreciate any
information on the SINUR family.
