Name: FRANK, Tony
eMail address: tfenterprises@wollongong.hotkey.net.au

I'm trying to research my family tree. I can only get information as far back as my great grand father his name was Yanez FRANK, who came from Rjavce, Slovenia. He married Anna TOMAZIC. I don't have any dates. One of his sons was Urban FRANK (my grandfather), born 25 May 1885 at Rjavce. He married Maria GUSTINCIC. The father of Maria GUSTINCIC was Andrej GUSTINCIC, and he married Ana JAGODNIK. Could you please help in tracking the birth certificates for these people and going back further?

Name: ANCEL (ANCELJ), JOSEPH

I´m searching for the descendants of Mr Andrej ARKO and Mrs Barbara STERLE.
Their eldest son, Vincent ARKO arrived in USA in 1930, we know he lived in New Jersey for some years and died in Minnesota.
The second son, Stanislao went to Argentina in 1930.
The youngest one Paula, we think stayed in Slovenia.
I know the descendants of Stanislao ARKO and Filomena CAVALLINO. They live in Argentina and they are eager to get in touch with the rest of the family.
I would very much appreciate your help if you know something that could be use in this search.
I thank you in advance.

I am seeking help in my search for historical roots of the family Bressan. I have received information there was a settlement of 100 known as C. Bressan which was situated in an area known as Gorizia-Gorica in what I believe to be on the coast of Slovenia. The small southern alpine village my grandmother was born in had a population with only two surnames, Bressan and Faes, at the time I visited there as a child in 1936. I am interested in finding out if there are Slovenian roots to this family of Bressans. My grandmother's name was Teodora Bressan and her brother Emilio Bressan, along with other brothers and sisters, remained
in the family home and lands in the village of Fraveggio, now in the province of Trentino, Italy. It was formerly under the Austrian flag, and Trent, but was ceded to Italy after WWI. The village is not far from the city of Trento some many miles below the Brenner Pass leading into modern Austria. My grandfather, who took
his bride Teodora to America in 1900, was from the same region, and he had served under Emperor Franz Josef of Austria. This region and Slovenia were at one time part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Slovenians did emigrate to the Tyrol, I am told. Any helpful reply would be appreciated.

Member, Martha Gates is requesting help in searching for information on Justina Rutar. Her obituary in Ely, MN in 1937 says she was born in Whitney, PA and taken back to the homeland of Slovenia as an infant. She returned to the US in 1921 and lived with her Uncle Frank Friep/Fister in Ely, MN. She married Anton Struna in Ely, MN. I’d like to know who her parent are and why they went back to Slovenia. I believe her family were miners. They came from a mining area , Kempolge in the Ljubljana region, and went to mining areas in PA and MN.

He is believed to have served in the Jugoslav Cavalry and may have been a civil servant or government official and may have been a widower. He was a registered citizen of the National Committee of the Kingdom of Jugoslavia (12408 / 45). He entered England in 1948. He married Florence Evelyn Hudson (b Stapleford Notts, 12 Dec 1911) in 1949 and had two children, John and Christine. He became a British Citizen in February 1967 and died shortly after retiring, in Creswell, Derbyshire in September 1975. I would be grateful for any further information that anyone may have.

Pavla was daughter of Anton Zakrajsek and Marija Jakse; siblings include Albin and Mira. Other Zakrajsek relatives came to the USA: Leo lived in New York and Casimir in Illinois. I am assisting my cousin in researching family
who lived in the early 1900's (Red Lodge, MT). His father and grandparents, uncles and aunt lived in Red Lodge. Their Americanized last name was "Kussell". They were listed with that spelling in the 1910-1930 censuses, in Red Lodge, MT. In the 1900 census, the last name was spelled "Kossal", and they were living in Baker, Crawford Co., Kansas that year. They were listed as Coal Miners. They are all buried in Red Lodge Cemetery except for the son John. Here are their names: Peter Kussell - born 1867 in Austria (Slovenia),died 1904
Anna (maiden name "Rommer", not sure of spelling), born 1867 in Slovenia, died 1939 children:1) Peter Kussell- born 1895, died 1962 - married
Elizabeth Vanderloos - no children as far as I know, but I may be wrong. 2) Frank G. Kussell - born 1896 died 1969 -married Gertrude - one son who died as a baby, possibly other children? 3) John Brasmick Kussell - born 1898 died 1951 - married Dolores Chamberlain (John died in San
Francisco, CA). Two sons: Thomas and Timothy. 4) Angela or Angelina Kussell - born 1904, died 1973 (never married) Any additional information you can provide on this family would be greatly appreciated. Peter and Anna were married about 1892, which is also about the time they immigrated to the USA, according to the census records. I also believe my cousins Tom and Tim Kussell are the only living descendants of this family.
They are the 2 sons of John Brasmick Kussell. Tom's mother Dolores is my aunt.
Thanks,
-Phil Andrews
