Significant Addition Index - 1997


Note: This is a reverse chronological index of all significant additions to the FEEFHS Web Site from 1 May 1996 through 31 December 1996. Daily postings are the norm, but often several posting will occur during a day. Each time this occurs, the website is fully reindexed by our own search engine.

When a break occured in the chronology, the webmaster was either out of town (without FTP and Telnet access to the FEEFHS web server which are both needed to post stuff) or had offline hardware difficuties that prevented an update. However off-line hardware problems never affect our web site, except for a temporary lack of updates. Our website has always been fully accessable and available on the World Wide Web at all times the DCN was on line. And our own Website Index is always current. Thus it is by far the very best way to find all our stuff, what with a few URLs changing from time to time.

12 Nov: The hardware problem was a case of an overheated hard drive sitting between two other high speed multi-gig hard drives in a full tower P5-90. A second cooling fan solved the problem. But a major backlog has developed and it will take a while to work it off.

5 Nov: Webmaster's Note: Our new Fujitsui 2.16 Gig Fast Wide SCSI-2 Hard Drive has crashed almost daily since installation three weeks ago and has became increasingly difficult to restore using SCSI validation Utilities and is now at our hardware supplier for diagnosis. This major disruption of our work in process stream is reflected in a temporary slowdown of web postings. Apologies to Harold of GCRA, Michael of GRHC, Franz of Banat, Doug of HAFS and and Bill of Stammbaum for this delay in posting their stuff, (who's stuff is on that dead drive) and thank them for their patience. I hope to have a new IBM 2.16 Gig Ultrawide SCSI-2 Hard Drive carrying our public_html directory by week end.
