Michał Zieliński
Born in Warsaw, Michał has been interested in genealogy since childhood; his own family tree dates back to the Middle Ages. In 2013, he became (and still is) the administrator of the Geneteka database, administered by the Polish Genealogical Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Genealogiczne, a.k.a. "PTG”), a free, open-to-all database with indeces of vital records (births, marriages and deaths) from current and former Polish territories. It currently has over 51 million items and keeps growing quickly.
In 2022, Michał became the President of the Management Board of PTG. Since then, among other projects, he has been developing the second of PTG's main databases, Skanoteka--a database with scans of documents of genealogical value which has over 11 million scans and is growing dynamically.
