Patrick received a BA in family history-genealogy, emphasis Eastern Europe, from BYU; an MA in Estonian History from the University of Tartu; and a PhD in History, emphasis East European legal history, from Princeton University. He currently serves as a content strategist for Eastern Europe at FamilySearch. His book, Judges of Empire: Legal Cultures, Language, and State Transformation in Imperial Russia’s Baltic Provinces, 1860–1917, is forthcoming with De Gruyter Brill Press.
