Salt Lake City, the “Crossroads of the West,” is known for being easily accessible by car, rail, bus, and air. And it is one of the easiest cities to get to and to navigate as a visitor.

Getting to Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City Airport By Air: The Salt Lake International Airport serves as a major hub for Delta Airlines, but is also served by all other major airlines and their affiliates. Learn more about Salt Lake City International Airport.

By Interstate Rail: Amtrak’s California Zephyr serves Salt Lake City from the San Francisco Bay Area in the West and from Chicago, Illinois in the East. Amtrak at Salt Lake Central (intermodal hub): Amtrak Stations.

By Rail Within Utah: For city-to-city travel within Utah, Frontrunner is the Utah Transit Authority's commuter rail system providing service from the north at Ogden to the south at Provo (an 83-mile corridor serving 15 stations in Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah Counties).

By Bus:  Salt Lake is also served by Greyhound Bus Lines which arrives at Salt Lake Central. Greyhound - Salt Lake City.

Ground Transportation in Salt Lake City

Airport to Conference Hotel: The Crystal Inn and Suites offers a complimentary airport shuttle from/to the airport and hotel. Other ground transportation options from the airport or Salt Lake Central (intermodal hub) include taxi, app-based ride options and commercial shuttle.

Hotel Shuttle to Other Conference Venues: The Crystal Inn will operate a complimentary shuttle service for Conference guests from the hotel to the Salt Palace Convention Center (as well as the FamilySearch Library). See the Venues Map. (The Shuttle Schedule will be posted closer to the conference date.) In addition, Conference attendees may use TRAX light rail. See “Light Rail and Bus in Salt Lake City” below.

Private Auto/Parking: The Crystal Inn, the official Conference hotel, provides complimentary parking. For those driving into Salt Lake City, the Salt Palace Convention Center has two paid underground parking lots accessible at four points all on the west side:

200 South Lot – two entrances: Enter at 200 South between West Temple and 200 West or enter at 200 West just south of the dock entrance.

300 West Lot – two entrances: Enter at 300 West between 100 South and South Temple or enter at 100 South between 200 West just past the Japanese Garden.

Light Rail and Bus in Salt Lake City: One of the best transportation options for Salt Lake City visitors is the TRAX light rail or UTA bus "Free Fare Zone". Riders may take TRAX or any bus within the downtown area (see map) at no cost. (Temple Square TRAX Station is the stop for the Salt Palace Convention Center and the FamilySearch Library on the Blue and Green Lines.) Schedules are posted at each station, but may also be found online. Connections to other TRAX lines or bus lines beyond the downtown area may be made at the Central Station and online.

Visitor Center

The SLC Convention and Visitors Bureau staffs a Visitor Center and gift shop at 90 S. West Temple. It is open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Online information may be found at https://www.visitsaltlake.com
