Sharolyn Swenson
Sharolyn Swenson began her love of family history after locating her birth mother by conducting a search of public records. After learning of her Croatian roots through her maternal grandfather, Sharolyn began supplementing her family search efforts by taking a series of classes in the Family History department at Brigham Young University. Several years later, Sharolyn took a DNA test and discovered her Jewish ancestry through her birth father. After conducting a search of public records, she was able to find her birth father who shares an interest in discovering his family’s roots. Sharolyn is currently attempting to learn more about Jewish family history research to extend her new family line.
Sharolyn earned a B.A. in History from Brigham Young University and a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. She is the Continuing Resources Catalog Librarian at the Brigham Young University Harold B. Lee Library.
