Born in Crimea, Ukraine, Sasha Sichkarenko became interested in family history research in childhood when he compiled the genealogy of the ancient Greek gods together with his parents and younger brother, reading the works of Homer.
Eventually, this hobby and an "Information, library and archival studies" diploma from EE University, Cherkasy, Ukraine, became a professional interest. Having more than twenty years of experience helping people of Ukrainian origin and almost ten years of volunteer work at FamilySearch Support, he was hired as the official representative of FamilySeach International in Ukraine at the beginning of 2013.
