An enhanced registration system was put into place for the FEEFHS conference in 2019. Former conference registrants will find the new system has a similar look and function to the previous one.

Cyrillic for Beginners Workshop

In this two day afternoon workshop, you will learn the Russian alphabet in both print and cursive Cyrillic. There will be fun, interactive practice in recognizing, reading, pronouncing and writing the Cyrillic characters. By the end of the workshop, you will already be starting to read original Russian genealogical records.

Austro-Hungarian Track

Austro-Hungarian Empire Geography

Participants will learn historical jurisdictional and cultural geography of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This will include boundary changes and ethno-linguistic geography and how these things affect record keeping. Participants will be introduced to a major gazetteer that is used for Austro-Hungarian Empire research.

FEEFHS is currently in the process to organize the 2019 conference on East European genealogy. The dates are already set in stone. As every year since 2010 the conference will be held at the Plaza hotel in Salt Lake City. The 2019 dates are August 5th and 6th for the pre-conference and 7th to the 9th for the main conference.
