Presentation at Opening Reception

Online Newspapers for Eastern Europe (by Milan Pohontsch)

Digital resources for historical East European newspapers are comparatively scarce. This presentation surveys the available sources and outlines methods for searching them efficiently.

Call for Presentations – FEEFHS 2026 Conference

The Foundation for East European Family History Studies (FEEFHS) invites presentation proposals for its 2026 Conference, August 4–7 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

We seek engaging topics on genealogy and family history with an emphasis on Eastern Europe, including the former Russian, Austro-Hungarian, and German Empires.

Featured areas:

• Baltic States (special focus)

• Jewish research

• Minority research

Registration Information for the 2026 Conference

The 2026 FEEFHS Conference registration is now open! This in-person only conference will take place in Salt Lake City from Wednesday, August 5 to Friday, August 7, with an optional day of workshops on Tuesday, August 4.

Hour-long classes run from 8:30am to 5:00pm with a 90-minute break for lunch. Featuring classes in several regional/topic tracks, the schedule will offer 3 class choices for each of 6 class time slots per day, i.e., 18 classes to choose from each day!

Conference Dining

We hope you’ll join us for Tuesday night’s Welcome Reception where there will be a buffet of finger foods…and also for the Closing Banquet on Friday night. But in the meantime, downtown Salt Lake City has a wide variety of dining venues. Many restaurants are within walking distance of the Crystal Inn (the conference hotel) and the Salt Palace Convention Center, where classes will be held.
